I'm a perfectionist. It's my biggest weakness as a painter — the urge to keep going, keep fixing, keep refining until something is technically correct rather than alive. With this piece, I made myself stop. Put the brush down. Let it be imperfect.
It's still one of my favorite pieces I've ever made. Funny how that works.
